Resolutions for a new year
  1. Keep you up-to-date about my current learnings in sustainability.
It took a while for me to realize that you, oh reader (especially the readers who also happen to be clients of mine) might actually want to know what's what I'm doing when I'm not busy installing Joomla sites, playing tech support or troubleshooting site glitches. As mentioned in a previous post, I'm doing double-time as a full-time Green MBA candidate at Bainbridge Graduate Institute, based outside of Seattle. Because I'm fully immersed in sustainable management course material, it seems fitting that I should be filling you in on what's hip, smart and current in the realm of triple bottom line business management.
  2. Share resources for non-profits and small businesses.
In school, I come across all kinds of incredibly interesting, helpful and informative tidbits that might come in handy to you non-profits and small-business owners: marketing, fund-raising, online tools, free stuff, collaborations, innovations, time and money savers -- well, you get the picture. I'll share it all with you, especially in lieu of the lovely new economy in which we find ourselves.
  3. Speak of the "new economy".
The state of the economy is of great interest to me, in particular, how might we as communities, businesses and organizations modify our methods to survive and, dare I say, even thrive(!) in the post bubble fallout. I'll be posting observations, articles and ideas for your perusal.
  4. Share stories of Seattle.
We are very far away from many of you, clients, friends and family. So I'll give you a taste of life in Seattle, which sometimes feels a lot like the east coast. And then not so much.

  5. Tell the people in my life how much I love them.
I don't mean to get sappy on you, but if there's anything this year has taught me, it's to wake up and be aware of the amazingly supportive, inspiring and brilliant people in my life. For those of you who don't know already, we lost my husband's younger brother to a freak case of pneumonia earlier this year. It really woke us up to how much we take for granted, and how everything can change in an instant. We love and miss you, Greg. We love and miss you, friends and family in Maine, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Boston, Vermont, DC, Toronto, Nova Scotia. You've gotten us through this year and then some.

For now, over and out.
Carrie Bancroft
